How to Workout when it seems impossible

It’s saturday morning…

My wife, Angela has gone to work (she is a physio and works at one of the local hospitals). Dad is left to look after the kids (Katie, 2 years old and Liam, 5 years old).

But, Dad also wants to get in a workout…hmmm. Want to know what I did…??

I put the workout music on (Katie loves music) and worked out with Katie in our lounge. We did a 20 minute high intensity full body workout…and here’s the best part:

Katie giggled and screamed with laughter the whole way through the workout. Want to know why…??

Katie was my resistance equipment.

Now, I just love “getting active” with my family. Liam and I often go for a run and bike ride together over weekends and this was just yet another way for me to exercise while spending time with my family.

Here are some of the exercises Katie and I did:

Baby LungesBaby Overhead Shoulder PressBaby Squat

Here is the exact workout routine we did:

————————————————

Round 1: 4 minute circuit

Push-Ups (Katie lying on my back) followed by Squats (holding Katie)

20 seconds exercise and 10 seconds rest x 8 to make 4 minutes. Then rest for 1 minute.

Round 2: 4 minute circuit

Lying Hip Extension (Katie sitting on my lap) followed by Bent over Row/Shoulder Press (holding Katie)

(20 seconds exercise and 10 seconds rest x 8 to make 4 minutes). Then rest for 1 minute.

Round 3: 4 minute circuit

Dips (Katie sitting on my lap) followed by Lunges (holding Katie)

(20 seconds exercise and 10 seconds rest x 8 to make 4 minutes). Then rest for 1 minute.

Round 4: 4 minute circuit

Plank (Katie lying on my back) followed by Running on the spot (Katie running and jumping too!!)

(20 seconds exercise and 10 seconds rest x 8 to make 4 minutes). Then rest for 1 minute.

Katie had so much fun…it was a great way to get in my workout and spend some “fun” time with my little girl.
